“What a fantastic safari tour! The scenery was breathtaking, and there were plenty of stops along the way. Dimitri (our guide and driver) was a legend and explained everything in three languages. The Zaro lake was a serene place whilst the gorge was amazing. We saw archaeological sites along the way, a number of goats and learnt about the flora and fauna of the region. The beach was beautiful - charcoal sand with pebbles (we didn’t use shoes to swim), and sat in a cove at the end of the gorge with a bathroom to change and a small restaurant for refreshments. “The “9 hours” duration is extremely misleading. Had we have known it would take 4 hours to complete a 2 hour journey, we would have hired a car instead. We were picked up at 8:15 and spent 2 hours picking up other people before we made our way to the beach and arrived at 12:00Although hotel pickup was offered, we were the only people that had to walk 10 minutes to our pickup location, whereas they were happy driving down short, narrow roads to pick up other guests. Our bus also broke down, and in the 4 hours we had to explore the beach they couldn’t arrange a replacement. Once…”

We set of to the olive factory which we enjoyed, especially the tasting, The next stop was the village which was quite quant, this was a about an half hour stop and we saw a church and had a wander. “Excellent guides Spiritos & Johnny starting in the olive groves into a gorge to arrive at Plakias beach. Onwards to catch boat to Preveli beach. As this was first boat of season had to split party in half due to numbers. This resulted in revisit to Plakias as first group hadn't seen initially. A good trip out, but could imagine Preveli gets packed peak season.”
